How Much Does a Website Cost in Malaysia? (2026 Price Guide)

05 Ogos 2026 · Bacaan 4 minit

The first question every business owner asks before building a website is simple: how much does it cost? The honest answer is anywhere from RM100 to more than RM20,000. That range is confusing, so let us break it down with real numbers.

Price comparison (2026)

OptionUsual priceTime to buildBest for
Do it yourself (Wix, WordPress)RM0 – RM600/yearDays to weeksYou have time and want to learn
Ready-made one-page packageRM100 – RM9001 – 7 daysYou need a clean online presence, fast
FreelancerRM800 – RM3,0001 – 4 weeksYou need a few pages and custom design
Agency (SME package)RM2,500 – RM5,5004 – 8 weeksEstablished business, wants strategy and support
Agency (complex / e-commerce)RM6,000 – RM20,000+2 – 6 monthsOnline store, booking systems, integrations

Agency and freelancer figures come from public pricing pages of Malaysian providers such as Bingo Web Design, CyberCypher and Baloot (checked in 2026).

Why is the range so wide?

Because the word "website" covers too many different things. Four factors decide most of the price:

  • Number of pages. One page and fifteen pages are very different amounts of work.
  • What runs behind it. A static catalogue is cheap. A shopping cart, user logins, or a booking calendar is software, not design.
  • Who writes the content. If you supply the text and photos, the cost drops. If the agency must write and shoot everything, that is separate work.
  • The discovery phase. Expensive agencies include meetings, research and several design rounds. That is time, and time is the cost.

When cheap is the right choice

Many articles will tell you never to buy cheap. That is not fully honest. A cheap website is the right choice when the scope matches what you actually need:

  • You need one tidy place people can check before they message you
  • You sell through social media and just need one link that looks legitimate
  • You are not yet sure where the business is going
  • You need something this week, not in two months

In these cases, paying RM3,000 for a fifteen-page website is a waste. You are paying for scope you will never use.

When cheap is the wrong choice

It matters just as much to know when not to go cheap:

  • You need to sell directly on the website (cart, checkout, payments)
  • You need bookings, a calendar, or customer logins
  • You need many pages for long-term SEO
  • You have no content at all and need someone to write everything

If that is you, an RM100 package is not suitable — and any provider who says it is, is selling something they cannot deliver.

The hidden costs people forget

The build price is only part of it. These repeat every year:

  • Domain — RM40 to RM60 a year. This is your website address (for example myshop.com). Almost no provider includes it in the price.
  • Hosting — RM0 to RM200 a month. For a one-page site, a free plan such as Cloudflare Pages is enough.
  • Maintenance — RM30 to RM200 a month if you want someone else to handle updates and fixes.

When comparing quotes, compare the total for the first year, not just the build price.

Where WebRM100 sits

To be fair, here is our own position stated clearly — including the limits.

RM100, paid once, for one professional one-page website: profile, products or services, and how to get in touch. Designed around your chosen colours, mobile-friendly, with a WhatsApp button.

Time: 24 hours from when we start building — not from when you pay. Payment gives you a numbered slot in the daily queue, and we limit how many websites we build each day so the 24-hour promise stays true. You see your slot number before you pay.

Revisions: 3 free rounds through your own private review page.

Not included: the domain, long-form copywriting, product photography, multi-page websites, and complex systems like e-commerce or logins.

The price is low because the scope is narrow — not because we discount full work. One page, a standard process, no long discovery phase. Removing that scope is what makes RM100 possible.

How to choose

Ask yourself one question: what must this website do for me in the first three months?

  • If the answer is "make people trust me before they message" — one page is enough.
  • If the answer is "sell products without me replying to messages" — you need e-commerce, and a budget from RM3,000.
  • If the answer is "appear on Google for ten search terms" — you need many pages and ongoing content.

Pay for that answer, not for the biggest package you can afford.

The most expensive website is the one you never finished, because the price frightened you at the start.
